On 8/21/17 at 12:21 am last night, Company 20 was dispatched to assist on a serious train accident at the Septa 69th Street Terminal. Reports came pouring in that a Route 100 high-speed trolley struck another trolley at the Terminal and there were numerous people injured. Engine 20-2 made the response and, upon arrival, began assisting EMS crews with removing patients from the trolley and platform area. Due to the amount and severity of injuries, a level 2 Mass Casualty Incident was declared and a tactical EMS Disaster box was struck, summoning numerous EMS Units from throughout Delaware County to the scene. A total of 42 patients were transported to local hospitals, with 3 patients in critical condition. 20-2 was on the scene for approx. one hour before returning to Drexel Hill.
