Just before 1:30 pm, Monday afternoon, RIT 20 was dispatched to 1049 Elmwood Ave. in Company 09’s (Sharon Hill) first-due on the 2nd Alarm assignment for a working house fire with possible entrapment. Minutes earlier, first-in companies arrived to heavy smoke showing and a working fire on the 2nd floor. Upon receiving reports of people possibly trapped, Command immediately struck the 2nd Alarm. RIT/Rescue 20 (D/C M. Morgan) was out the door seconds later and upon arrival set up for the RIT. First-in crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down in short order and found extension in the walls, which was also quickly taken care of. All searches proved to be negative. The Rescue stood-by for approximately 30 minutes, as the fire was declared under control and they were released.
