On Sunday April 3rd at 8:46 am, Company 20 was dispatched for wires, but on arrival had smoke showing from the rear of a dwelling. The crew observed flashing that had blown off the house and made contact with power lines, starting a fire in the rear bedroom wall and cockloft area. Asst. Chief B. Tully then had the assignment upgraded to a house fire, adding Company 36 (Cardington-Stonehurst), RIT 74 (Primos-Secane), and DCMH paramedics. Crews were able to keep the fire contained until PECO’s arrival, and then completed opening up and extinguishing all fire. Company 20 was in service for approx. 90 minutes.
