On Monday morning at 136 am Companies 20 26 Highland Park and Medic 103 Delco Hospital Medics were dispatched to 719 Roberts Avenue for a house fire. Upper Darby Police units responding to the scene advised of heavy smoke and fire showing from several blocks away. Police arrived along with 20-9A Hoban and reported a working fire with fire through the roof. Companies began an aggressive interior attack with several hand lines. It was then determined that the house was unoccupied and had just been sold. A partial roof collapse had occurred and all crews were then pulled out of the building for master stream operations. Ladder 20 placed the ladder pipe in service to knock down the bulk of the fire. After most of the fire was darkened down crews then entered the building and began to check for hot spots and overhaul. Crews were in service for almost 4 hours and 1 minor injury to a Drexel Hill firefighter was reported. Also assisting at the scene was Rescue 58 Bon Air.
