At 1253PM on Monday March 29 Rescue 20 was dispatched to the 4000 block of Redden Road for a residential rescue. The call was originally dispatched as assist the medics. Fire Board advised 20-9B M. Morgan and Rescue 20 that the medics had a female that had fallen down a flight of steps and was impaled through the back by a railing. 20-9B arrived and had the crew from the rescue begin to dismantle the railing so the patient could be transported. Crews worked for about 35 minutes using hand and air tools as well as a sawzall to free the female for transport to a local hospital.
