Monday, December 28, 2009 - Around 10:30 pm, Monday night, Companies 20 and 74 (Primos-Secane), Engine 36 (Cardington-Stonehurst), RIT 37 (Upper Darby), and Medic 103-7B (DCMH Paramedics) were dispatched to 4031 Ellendale Rd. for the house fire. Engine 20-1 was on the street within seconds, under the command of D/C 20-9A (M. Morgan), and was immediately advised by fireboard that numerous calls were being received. 20-1 arrived to find a 2 story twin dwelling with smoke showing from the 2nd floor. The crew stretched an 1 3/4" attack line and encountered heavy smoke conditions on the 2nd floor. Fire was located in the middle bedroom and was knocked down in several minutes. Arriving units assisted in ventilation, searches, and salvage & overhaul. The fire was placed under control in about 30 minutes and crews began mopping up. Company 20 was off radio around midnight.
