Just before 8pm, Thursday, Company 20 along with Company 26(Highland Park) were dispatched on a 2nd emergency in the township at 272 Long Lane, for the building fire. Upon investigation of Engine 26-1, burnt food was found with no smoke condition, so the assignment was recalled. As units were recalling, UD-11 requested one engine from Company 20 to assist on the 1st emergency, a working fire at 327 Maypole Road. Engine 20-1 made the response, under the command of 20-13(Lieut. Dave Stevenson Jr.), as the remainder of Company 20 returned to the station. The crew from 20-1 assisted companies on location of a 2 story middle of the row with a primary and secondary search as well as ventilation on the second floor. All searches were negative, and 20-1 was released from the scene to standby at Station 36(Cardington-Stonehurst). After covering for about a half hour, 20-1 returned to station and was back in service around 8:30pm.
