On June 2nd around 1:00 P.M. Ladder 20 was dispatched to the 7000-blk of Penarth Ave. in Company 37’s (Upper Darby) first due. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire from the attic of a 3-story single home and went in service. Ladder 20’s crew took the roof on arrival and opened 2 holes for ventilation. Command then added Rescue 20 for an additional RIT. Upon arrival, the Rescue crew stood by as the RIT for several minutes, before being placed in service to assist in opening up and overhauling the attic. Company 20 was on the scene for just over an hour before going available. While enroute back to the Station, Fireboard advised Ladder 20 to respond to another building fire, this time at 100 W. Baltimore Ave. in Lansdowne Borough. While enroute, first due units arrived to find heavy smoke showing from a 3-story apartment building. Ladder 20 and Engine 20-1 arrived simultaneously, with 20-1 stretching a backup line to the fire apartment and Ladder 20’s crew forcing entry, searching, and opening up walls and ceilings. Crews encountered heavy fire in the kitchen of a 3rd floor apartment and made quick work of it. Company 20 was back in the Station within an hour
